If this sounds like you- get in touch!
if you would like to use some top end kit, learn new skills and discover something progressive- we can put together an intro session. We use stable, fast and light surfskis for our intro sessions. Usually a trip like this will involve paddling along the Hoe and getting to Drakes Island. For these sessions a moderate level of fitness is required.
Surfskis are amazing crafts. They are light, strong, fast and very progressive. Stable skis are available as well as super fast skinny ones. We highly recommend trying our skis if you are attempting to progress from a standard SOT or looking at building your paddling skills. Our surfskis are stable and quick so you can build the skills you need- enabling you to progress onto traditional closed cockpit craft or onto faster skis.
We usually work on the Tamar River, around Plymouth Sound and several local beaches for these sessions.
Downwind Spotting and progressive trips. Do you have a ski that you’re keen to use in conditions? Do you aspire to do some downwinders? Come on down and spend a day building some open water skills. We will pick the best location allowing us to build things gradually and I’ll surf next to you to give you both confidence and increase your safety.
We sell surfskis for all levels of paddler and we have many demo skis available.
Play the Sea- Closed Cockpit Sea Kayak Guiding: We have spent so many hours exploring and discovering the whole coast in the Eddyzone and all around the UK. Of course exploring is all part of the fun but if you are short on time- we can introduce you to the best areas- be it the most beautiful or most suited to your abilities, kit and the conditions.
Or, if you simply want to build your skills in the rocks and surf zone and need a spotter, then we can provide that.
We love the coastal white water zones and we know you’ll love it too. Get in touch with your requirements.
The area which we usually work is south Devon and SE Kernow- However we can work further afield and within other areas in the South West

Join a training programme which will give you the skills and fitness to undertake these open water challenges. Tom has extensive open water and expedition experience.
Paddler Requirements- Lundy: Comfortable in open water up to F4 | Able to paddle non stop- without getting out of your kayak for up to five hours | Able to maintain a steady 3-4kt pace | Own all of the required equipment (Please contact us)
Paddler Requirements- Scillies: Comfortable in open water up to F5 | Able to paddle non stop- without getting out of your kayak for up to ten hours | Able to maintain a steady 3-4kt pace | Own all of the required equipment (Please contact us)
The way this works: You will be invited to attend a range of preparation paddles. Once completed you will receive an action plan designed to help you progress to the required level. Once at the required level you will be added to the team list and we will all wait for weather windows in which to paddle. These trips will happen during July and August and you must be available to paddle week days.
These trips are some of the most advanced trips to undertake in a sea kayak. Toms job is to guide you, help you achieve your goals and work to keep you safer. This is open water and although weather systems can be predicted with the help of todays technology- its important to be mindful that these trips can be high risk due to many dynamic factors.
